Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers 5.0 Patch Notes Revealed

With the Final Fantasy XIV releasing its massive third expansion Shadowbringers Early Access on Friday 28th June, fans have been feverishly digging into the Preliminary Patch Notes to discover what’s in store for them come release. Plenty more content will be added in the 5.0 update, though Square Enix says some Shadowbringers features are being withheld until future patches. The Eden's Gate raid will be added in version 5.01, for example, while a New Game+ mode will land in update "5.1 or later." But alongside the expansion, developer Square Enix will also be releasing the huge 5.0 update with new features, content, and changes.

While the story of Shadowbringers has been kept relatively secret compared to the expansions that have come before it, the notes provide a lot of exciting details regarding the added content.
 
New photos of the two major new cities show off the beauty of the Crystarium and Eulmore as well as the new field areas that players will be exploring during their latest quest which sees players move to Norvrandt.
 
Thankfully Square Enix has released the full 5.0 Patch Notes earlier this morning. Here's a few more details direct from the dev team:
 
You must face the myriad perils of lands unknown, but how you do so will be up to you. Whether you choose to take up the fight as a gunbreaker or dancer, see the world through the eyes of a Viera or Hrothgar, or leverage Trust to challenge dungeons with your NPC allies, you will find there is much to be done both near and far─and plentiful updates to the battle system and crafting and gathering, as well as other new features and improvements to make it all worth the while.

    * Additional features will be implemented in future updates:
  • The raid Eden's Gate is scheduled to be released in 5.01.
  • The treasure hunt instance the Dungeons of Lyhe Ghiah and Eden's Gate (Savage) are scheduled to be released in 5.05.
  • The Restoration of the Holy See of Ishgard and New Game+ are planned for 5.1 or later.
