Battlegrounds Sells Nearly 5M Copies in 2019 And Getting Massive Visual Update

Time: 2019-06-25

While Fortnite is the undisputed champ of battle royale games at the moment, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been quietly plugging away. According to Super Data Research, PUBG has sold 4.7M copies of the game in 2019 alone. As PUBG sells for $30 per copy, that amounts to $141M dollars in 2019 not including any shop purchases, battle pass revenue, etc.

Recently, the PUBG team announced that the Erangel map will be getting a massive visual upgrade later this summer. The updated version is currently on the PUBG Test Server, so players can head in to check out what's new.

With this test, you’ll see new building styles, more realistic scenery and terrain, some new and changed areas within the map, and test settings for an updated Blue Zone.
As with previous stages of the Erangel update, these changes will be rolled out on the Test Server first, allowing players to get in, test map stability, check out all the updates, and provide their feedback before this hits live servers later this summer.
