One of the first things you should focus on once you have a proper team and players is to try and earn Virtual Currency. You can earn the double the amount of VC that you earn by playing exhibition matches on Hall of Fame difficulty.

  

Focus on improving your players’ relevant attributes and set the match length to 12 minutes so that you will have more time to make an impact on the game. Since you will only be earning XP for Pro difficulty or higher, you will need this extra time. You should focus on earning badges in matches, and performing good plays is what will earn you the badges that you need. Just play according to your position and you will do well enough.

 
If you’re playing on PS4, this specific rep glitch is a cumbersome but effective way to reach 99 overall quickly.
 
1. Game difficulty All-Star / quarter length 12 mins.
2. Start an easy game.
3. Do whatever gets your archetype the most rep. Shot creators do fades, for example.
4. Do this until at least the third quarter till you're either up by 25 or 55. It may take longer.
5. Once you're up, have the opposing team inbound the ball and quit out of NBA 2K19.
6. Hit the PS button and go to Settings/Application Save Data Management.
7. Go to Save Data System Storage and Copy to USB.
8. Select the most recently accessed MyCareer file and copy it over.
9. Reload the save and get back into the game you were in.
10. Once they inbound, press start and select "ask to quit and sit on the bench."
11. Close the app as soon as your endgame VC payout number descends to zero.
12. Back at the home screen go to Settings > Save Data Management > Saved data on USB storage > Copy to system storage > select the file you copied over in step eight.
13. Plug the USB into your computer and navigate to the save file folder at PS4/SaveDATA. Look for a file called MyCareer0001 or something similar just to make sure you're in the right folder.
14. Make a new folder on your desktop named Game 1.
15. Copy the numbered folder inside SAVEDATA and paste it into Game 1.
